What was the significance of the War of 1812? 


Objectives:
Collaborative:  Students will understand the major causes and events of the War of 1812 by reading, annotating for the main idea, and answering questions.  

Standards:
8.5.1 - Understand the political and economic causes and consequences of the War of 1812 and know the major battles, leaders, and events that led to a final peace.

What challenges might a country face when going to war?
Whole Group (Voice Level 0) 10 minutes: 
War of 1812 Intro Notes

Collaborative (Voice Level .5) 45 minutes:
Task 1: Read & complete AIM annotations
Task 2: Identify the main idea 
Task 3: Answer TDQs
