Who killed Reconstruction, North or South? 

Objectives: 
Collaborative: Students will be introduced to why Reconstruction failed by reading a background essay and answering guiding questions with at least 80% accuracy. 

Standards: 
8.11 Students analyze the character and lasting consequences of Reconstruction.

Write today's objective on your tracker.

DBQ Intro
Whole Class Collaborative(Voice Level 0) 40 Minutes: 
Step 1: Read the Background Essay together as a class & make annotations
Step 2: Answer the guiding questions with your group. This is due at the end of the period! 
Step 3: Trade and Grade

Early Finishers: Watch this,  complete any missing work, work on your portfolio, play Free Rice, read an article on NewsELA 

Exit Ticket (Voice Level  0) 2 minutes: 
Reflect on your objective. 

Homework: 
Any missing/late work is due Friday!!
