Was the "Boston Massacre" actually a massacre?
Objectives:
Collaborative: Students will investigate the Boston Massacre by reading a secondary source and eyewitness accounts and answering guiding questions with at least 80% accuracy. Independent: Students will collect evidence regarding the Townshend Acts and the Boston Massacre by completing a scavenger hunt in their text with at least 80% accuracy.

Introduction to the Townshend Acts and Boston Massacre
Independent (Voice Level 0) 35 minutes:
Task 1: Scavenger Hunt in Google Classroom
Task 2: Watch this and write at least 10 bullet point notes on a separate piece of paper.
Early Finishers: Complete any missing work including Achieve articles, another Word Wall for Unit 2, read silently, or watch this video.
Collaborative (Voice Level .5 - 1) 35 minutes:
Task 1: We will be completing jigsaw readings of the Boston Massacre, including eyewitness accounts. You will need to work with your group to answer the questions on your paper.
Task 2: Snowball discussion - was the Boston Massacre actually a "massacre"?
