What was the War of 1812?

Objectives: 
Independent: Students will understand the political and economic causes of the War of 1812 by watching a video and taking notes with at least 80% accuracy.
Standards: 

8.5.1 - Understand the political and economic causes and consequences of the War of 1812 and know the major battles, leaders, and events that led to a final peace

Do Now (Voice Level 0) 10 Minutes: 
Complete the reflection paper for your January Objective Packet, how many objectives did you successfully meet for the month, how many did you not? After you have reflected on your January performance, set goals for February. 

Finally, write today's objective in the first row of your February Objective Tracker. 

Whole Class (Voice Level 0) 25 Minutes: 
War of 1812 Video w/ guiding questions. As we watch the video, you need to be answering the questions. For homework, you will be taking a quizizz based on this information. 

Whole Group (Voice Level  0) 2 minutes: 
Reflect on your objective. 

Homework: 
Complete any and all missing work. The five week deadline is coming quickly!
