Would you have quit if you were a soldier at Valley Forge?


Objectives:
Collaborative: Students will analyze Valley Forge by reading and annotating primary sources and writing a CEREAL paragraph with a score of at least 3/4 according to the rubric.

Standards:
CA HSS.8.1 - Students will understand the major events preceding the founding of the nation.
RH.6-8.2 - Determine the central ideas or information of a primary or secondary source
RH.6-8.4 - Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text
ELD B.6 - Reading closely literary and informational texts and viewing multimedia to determine how meaning is conveyed.
Do Now (Voice Level 0) 2 minutes:
Re-write today's objective in your own words. What is the activity you will be completing and how will you know whether or not you met today's objective?

Collaborative (Voice Level 0) 40 minutes:
Task 1: Doc B Guided annotations
Task 2: Doc B Questions & Say Mean Matter chart
Task 3: CEREAL Paragraph
