Guiding Question:
How did Black Americans in the North help slaves from the South?


Objectives:
Independent: Students will practice CAASPP test taking strategies by reading an article, responding to multiple choice questions, and justifying their answers with a score of at least 3/4 according to the rubric.

8.6.4 - Study the lives of black Americans who gained freedom in the North and founded schools and churches to advance their rights and communities.
CCRA.R.2 –Determine a central idea of a text and analyze its development over the course of the text, including its relationship to supporting ideas; provide an objective summary of the text.
