Guiding Question:
How did industrialization affect the North?


Objectives:
Collaborative (really 'Whole Group' but please put this under the Collaborative section on your tracker): Students will understand the influence of industrialization on the North & the opportunities afforded to women by watching "Mill Times" and completing a viewing guide with at least 80% accuracy. 


Standards:
8.6.1. Discuss the influence of industrialization and technological developments on the North
CCRA.R.1 – Read closely to determine what the text says explicitly and to make logical inferences from it; cite specific textual evidence when writing or speaking to support conclusions drawn from the text.

Do Now (Voice Level 0) 5 minutes: 
- On your objective tracker, dissect the objectives you will be working to complete for today. Be prepared to explain the objectives in your own words if I call on you. 

Whole Group (Voice Level 0) 55 minutes: 
1. Watch Mill Times and complete the viewing guide together as a class. 
2. Synthesize information learned during the documentary by answering the question at the bottom of your viewing guide: how did mills change the lives of women in the North?
