Guiding Question:
What were the strengths and weaknesses of each side in the American Revolutionary War?
Objectives:
Students will investigate the beginning of the Revolutionary War by completing a scavenger hunt of their text book with at least 80% accuracy. Students will watch a BrainPop video on the Declaration of Independence and score at least an 8/10 on the quiz.
Students will analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each side of the war by investigating sources and completing a graphic organizer with at least 80% accuracy.

Do Now (Voice Level 0) 5 minutes:
Re-write today's objectives in your own words. What are the activities you will be completing and how will you know whether or not you met today's objectives?
Whole Group (Voice Level 0) 10 minutes:
Introduction to strengths and weaknesses during the war.
Independent (Voice Level 0) 40 minutes:
Task 1: TCI Scavenger Hunt for Chapter 7. Complete the assignment in Google Classroom.
Task 2: BrainPop video on the Declaration of Independence to review material we learned on Monday/Tuesday. After you watch the video, you need to take the quiz and e-mail the results to ecobb@blastla.org Make sure to include your first and last name when you send the quiz! Username is 123dog and password is 123cat.
Early Finishers: Complete any missing work, read the news, free choice Achieve article, read a book, watch this.
At the end of this station, reflect on the objective you just worked to complete. On your paper you need to write whether or not you met the objective AND how you know this. For example, "Yes I met this objective because I completed all five tabs for the article, summarized everything including the dig deeper, and I scored 88% on the activity!"
Collaborative (Voice Level .5 - 1) 40 minutes:
The first thing we will be doing is working is reading this and answering questions in our table groups.
After we have learned about how different Americans contributed to the Revolutionary War, we will take a closer look at the strengths and weaknesses of the Continental and British Army. You will need to look at, discuss, and order the strengths and weaknesses from most significant to least significant.
