Guiding Questions:
What were the causes and effects of the French and Indian War?
Objectives:
Students will work to increase their lexiles by reading an article about the French and Indian War, summarizing, and completing the activity with a score of at least 75%.
Students will exhibit their knowledge of settlement and colonization by creating a brochure for the 13 English colonies and scoring at least a 3/4 according to the rubric.
Standards:
CA HSS 8.1 Students will understand the major events preceding the founding of the nation.
W.8.4 - Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.

Objective form. Write down today's objectives in your own words. What are the activities you will be completing? How do you know whether or not you were successful?

- Achieve articles are summative grades. You cannot get higher than an NP if you did not summarize. In order to complete a "makeup Achieve" you need to also complete all 5 tabs and the summaries on your makeup article as well.
Early Finisher? You make complete any makeup work, read silently, investigate a current event on NewsELA, complete an Achieve article of your choice, or watch this video.
We will be working on a pamphlet for England's Colonies in North America. A template has been placed on your table along with the rubric.
- Information about Native Americans can be found in Google Classroom from your assignment titled "The First Americans" (if your ipad has google docs you should be able to find a copy of your assignment in there as long as you completed it.) You may also look at TCI Chapter 1 Section 11.
- Information about the New England Colonies can be found in TCI Chapter 3 Section 3, 4, or 5
- Information about the Middle Colonies can be found in your Google Classroom assignment titled "Middle and Southern Colonies" (if your ipad has google docs you should be able to find a copy of your assignment in there as long as you completed it.) You may also look at TCI Chapter 3 Sections 6 or 7.
