Guiding Question: 
Would you have quit if you were a soldier at Valley Forge?  


Objectives:
Collaborative: Students will decide whether they would have quit after Valley Forge by reading primary and secondary sources, answering questions, and writing a CEEEEL response with a score of at least 3/4 according to the rubric.

CA HSS.8.1.1 - Understand the major events preceding the founding of the nation.
RH.6-8.2 - Determine the central ideas or information of a primary or secondary source
W.8.1 - Write arguments to support claims with clear reasons and relevant evidence
Do Now (Voice Level 0) 5 minutes: 
Think back to last week, what is one advantage (strength) the American army had? What was one advantage (strength) the British army had?)
Whole Group (Voice Level 0) 10 minutes: 
Valley Forge intro


Collaborative (Voice Level .5) 90 minutes:
1. Read through packet, students annotate
2. Work time in groups to answer questions
3. Write CEEEEL response - Due at the door!
